Description: Wrote Who has seen the WindBiography of Canadian writer W.O. Mitchell These two matching volumes of the life and times of revered Canadian writer, W.O. Mitchell are in fine collectible condition. Both have been signed by the authors -- his professor son and daughter-in-law -- on the title page, making this a rare find for the collector of Canadian literature. Bindings are tight, corners are square, and spines are robust. There are no ownership marks in either book save the signatures and inscription of the two authors. There are no signatures or bookplates, no underlining, no bent pages, or moisture damage. Protective dust jackets are well preserved, with no signs of handling. Neither book looks like it was ever read, and the signatures are crisp and clear. The first volume (1914-1947) was published in 1999 and has 410 pages. Second volume (1948-1998) was published in 2005 and has 478 pages. W.O. Mitchell is best known for his novels, especially Who Has Seen the Wind and How I spent My Summer Holidays. He was born in Saskatchewan and grew up in Alberta, but gained fame through his active role in national media. He worked on Macleans Magazine alongside Pierre Berton, befriended Alice Munro early in her career, and was a regular on nationally broadcast radio programs. See photos for more details or email us.
