Description: Small wood gold gilded Triptych of Mary and Baby Jesus. Approx. 4" x 6 1/2" when open, 4" x 3 1/4" when closed. A faded piece of paper on the back "Trenscen" 1440 is a county of the Kingdom of Hungary. Its territory is now in western Slovakia.The left panel is a picture of Saint Catherine, a copy of the inner panel of the reliquary altarpiece from the Piarist Monastery in Trencsen.The right panel is the Miracle at Saint Stanisluas's Relic (The Deliverance of the Chained Peter) a copy of the panel from the feast-day side of the right shutter on an altarpiece. Both of the above panels mentioned are on display in the Hungarian National Gallery.The middle piece is a copy of Mary and Baby Jesus from a piece of Hungarian art.Please view the photos as they are a part of the description.
