Unabashedly pro-Raj, the story of a young Indian Prince and his friendship with some British army types. The release of this film was reported to have sparked anti-British riots in India. This poster is from the first re-release of the movie in Belgium shortly after the end of the war in Europe, probably 1946 or early 1947. It is printed on the reverse of an ordnance map and in the smaller immediate post-war format which was common practice in order to conserve paper. The striking artwork is unique to this Belgian release poster which seldom comes up for sale or auction. Originally folded as issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 21 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
