Description: The Writings of George Washington, Jared Sparks, 1834, 1837 (Vol. 1,5) Ex Lib.. A wonderful twosome in fair condition and ex library with markings as pictured. The 1834 volume five is the earlier and presumably 1st edition of a twelve volume set. The 1837 volume is volume one presumably of a later edition. Both published in Boston and both with substantial wear, foxing and the infirmities of nearly two hundred year old books. Maps and illustrations appear intact. The 1834 volume has correspondence from July 1777 to July 1778. A few loose pages but bindings fairly tight.
