Description: Ukrainian National Guard "Chornobyl Unit" Prisoner of War (POW) patch Chernobyl This is the morale patch of the “Freedom to Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant Defenders” movement. The movement’s participants are the family members and friends of the Ukrainian National Guard soldiers who were captured during the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant seizure in February-April 2022. Over 100 guardsmen are still kept as prisoners of war (POWs) somewhere in Russia. The patch design was created from scratch by one of the guardsmen who was liberated from captivity. Upon returning home he designed the overall image and included the motto of the movement — “Together till the end. Loyal to our oath.” 3041 stands for the number of the military unit that still guards the Power Plants even as of today.
