Description: 1960s United Guitar Corp Serenander Parlor Acoustic NaturalVery good looking vintage USA made acoustic!This guitar is being sold as-is, it has high action and will need some work to become 100% playable.The United Guitar Corp was based out of Jersey City, New Jersey, right across the river from NYC, and made many instruments during the 20th century and under many different names. Once Oscar Schmidt had broken apart in 1939 one of its pieces became United, which continued to work out of the original Oscar Schmidt factory. There are also ties to Epiphone, Guild, and D'Angelico instruments.The guitar itself is very clean and has no breaks or cracks. It has original Kluson strip tuners, triangular fret markers, a floating bridge and trapeze tailpiece, all maple laminate wood, a 25" scale length, a 9-3/4" upper bout width, an 8" waist, a 13-1/2" lower bout, and a 3-3/4" depth.The guitar also comes with its original gold strap rope and gig bag. The gig bag is in rough shape and has many tears and the handle is broken off on one end, but the zipper works and the guitar stays inside the case.The guitar is used and shows signs of it including dings, dents, scrapes, scratches, bumps, and bruises but is in otherwise great shape. The action is high but the bridge is very tall. The neck seems to be bowed a bit, the frets are rusty, and the nut is chipped under the low E string so it may need to be replaced. The guitar will need work to be able to be 100% comfortable and playable. There may also be other issues that were not noticed during inspection.Though this may look like a Harmony, Regal, Kay, Silvertone, Airline, or other brands, this guitar could have been branded under many different names such as Telleno, United, Premier, Orpheum, Stewart Orthofonic, Sorkin, Royce, Stadium, Serenader, Stewart, Bugeleisen & Jacobsen, B&J, Lipsky, D'Angelico, Bantam, Elitone, and many others.Please feel free to ask if you have any questions!
