Description: An antique calling card case from the 19th century. A wooden body is veneered and inlaid with a delicate design of flowers using mother of pearl. The top opens and has a small metal clasp. There is a small metal hinge. The interior is thin for holding calling cards. MEASUREMENTS 3 ¾” (9.5 cm) tall x 2 ¾ in (7.0 cm) wide x ½ in (1.3 cm) thick. Weighs 1.6 oz (45 g) CONDITION The case has cracks to the veneer on a lower corner, upper corner, and is missing on nearly one entire side. The veneer still has it’s shine though. The hinge is loose but opens, closes and latches securely. A colorful and intricate calling card case to add to a collection or to use and leave a lasting impression.
