Description: Vintage 14k Gold .40Ct Diamond Illusion Square Head Engagement Ring Looks Big Vintage 14k Gold .40Ct Diamond Illusion Square Head Engagement Ring Looks Big Click images to enlarge Description This antique circa 1940's diamond engagement ring is one of my FAVORITE styles of vintage "illusion-set" ring. The ring has a squared-off face. The center diamond is set with four smaller diamonds halfway underneath it and extending outward in a scalloped flower squared-off head, which certainly makes it look like a larger engagement ring. The photos do not do this ring justice--it's nicer in person. The main natural diamond in this ring measures 4.3 mm (about .32 ct). Four .01 ct single-cut diamonds are set around it, in the scallops of the head, with fishtail prongs at the corners. The shoulders are set with two more little diamonds for accent. The diamonds are very white and eye clean. Total diamond weight is about .40 ct. The face of the ring measures 6.6 mm, which would be over a 1 ct diamond size (hence the bigger look). I've shown it with a vintage band in the photos to give an idea of what it looks like with another ring. WEDDING BAND IS NOT INCLUDED. The head measures 1/4 top to bottom and sits up 1/8" off the hand. The ring is hallmarked 14k. It weighs 2.6 grams and is a size 7.5. It is in excellent vintage condition.
