Caliber 355 Ref. 6250 was one of the first Omega calibers to make it to market with automatic and a calendar. This one is in such good shape! Case Ref. is GX6250 and Serial number is 14,940, 886 which dates this watch to about 1954. During this time period, the United States put very high luxury taxes on luxury watches. So, Omega, Rolex, and other luxury brands began sending movements only to the U.S. and had their box and papers made in the USA as well as straps, cases, (This one is J. Boss). The value of this watch is not only just its name, but also in the place this watch holds in timekeeping history. The 355 17 jewel movement is clean and running. The case measures 35mm. It has its original signed crown, fabulous signed crystal, beautiful crisp plated white dial with applied markers and emblems. Very nice! It's got a regular sized brown leather strap (band) This watch is ready to wear or would look lovely in your display case. This watch was last serviced in 1997 and then added to a very large investment grade collection.
