So if the bust is 17 inches pit to pit, that is roughly equivalent to a 34 inch bust (if the material is thicker like on a coat, I usually subtract two inches to get the best fit, so then the bust would be 32). If the hips are 20 inches across, same thing, that means a 40 inch total measurement for the hips. For Men's sleeve measurements, I start from the outer seam of the shoulder and measure to the end of the sleeve cuff. Vintage is defined as 25 years old or older.
