It is black with some red showing through. I don't know the exact age . This piece has wonderful patina and would be an amazing decor item. There is scattered surface rust and chippy paint. It has not been tested so I have no idea if it is operable, it does all move freely. I see no breaks, cracks or chips, overall good condition. Size - 17.5"H x 12.25"D x 9.5"W If you need your item shipped with a particular carrier let me know. I will always try to pick the least expensive way to ship, that gets item to you in the amount of time you want it or faster. Example if you pick Priority and FedEx is cheaper we go with FedEx. All of these things added together is what makes these vintage pieces so attractive to us.
