Description: Well, well, what have we here? Up for bid is this absolutely lovely duck figurine in a bright turquoise glaze, attributable to a Chinese import company but otherwise of unknown maker. I believe that this duck was once part of a mirrored pair, but he displays wonderfully on his own! The base is signed with a swirl, as well as being stamped with a character and the number 13. I have not been able to identify the source of this pottery mark. The piece measures about 6-1/2" long from tail to chest, standing about 5-1/4" tall to the top of the head. It comes to you in excellent vintage condition, with perhaps a bit of light shelf wear, but no notable damage, like chips, fractures, or crazing. I do note one rather sharp point on the interior edge of the foot, but this "notch" appears to be under the glaze and part of the original mold--at any rate, nothing that detracts from the display of the piece. What a gorgeous addition to your home décor--Asian-inspired or otherwise! This handling fee not only contributes toward the obvious selling expenses of bubble wrap, boxes, printer ink, and tape, but more significantly towards the steep selling fees imposed by Ebay on your total invoice (sale price + tax + shipping). Even the sale of a $5 dollar mug will incur me over $2 in fees--the higher the cost and weight of the item, so too the fees.
