Description: Three beautiful fine linen handmade and handstitched ladies handkerchiefs in white linen. The stitching on each varies a little on thread color, one with a silvery gray thread, the two others with more of a silvery white thread. The first is a white stitched rose at one corner of a 10 3/4" square, the second a slightly larger rose at one corner of a 12" square both 'new' unused. The third has a daisy motif on 4 corners of a 10" square, it appears to have been washed and ironed and was believed to be the 'borrowed' from my mother to my sister on her wedding day in 1957. We had traveled to Europe, handkerchief's were considered a 'fine' gift souvenir and several were gifted, some saved for 'wedding' events for other family members. These are 3 that I have chosen to sell, I have kept many. They truly are a specialty of an elegant time, if you were a 'lady' you carried a handkerchief in your purse, sometimes two to hand to a friend or acquaintance as a memento. All brides 'back in the day' carried a handkerchief as a gift, I carried one given by my precious aunt and currently displayed in a shadow box of such sweet gifts! They are quite fine in material and the stitching more like art work! Please note the price is for three handkerchiefs.
