Vintage Purple Velvet Dress With Handsewn Applique Collar/Cuffs

Description: Introducing "Delilah" she is a true vintage velvet gown in a gorgeous shade of deep dark purple. She has a couple of areas that show a little time ware which are either more or less visible depending on the light and positioning to or away from it. These two areas are the abdominal and front hem areas ( please see photos for these ). Long before we acquired it someone had done a little repair below the zipper and did not use purple thread when doing so (noticeable if you are aware of it and looking up close otherwise not so much) again please see photos. We found this piece in a vintage shop in Victoria B.C that was closing over a year ago now, to be honest I was hoping to fit into it one day and was keeping it for myself. It was time to say goodbye however so we decided to breathe new life into her and hours were spent "hand sewing" the elegant black lace collar and cuffs onto this already stunning lady. I know that never again will I come across another one of her kind. Rare for a velvet dress this one has nice roomy pockets. The shoulders in this gown are very eye catching they are a draping puff and the velvet folds falling over one another almost look liquid like doing so. Fully lined as well. Sooo absolutely gorgeous.
