The most interesting volume in this group of miniature books is the Bolton Assembly Guide (4" x 2.5") of 1843, a tiny instruction manual to several dozen dances of the period. It is very good in brown cloth with gilt titles on the front cover. Gilt page edges all around. Front cover slightly faded, but no other marks or damage at all and the binding is still sound. The other volumes are: 1) The Fortunes of Nigel, by Sir Walter Scott, Bradbury & Agnew, London 1877 (5" x 3.25"), 579 pp. + 6 p. glossary and 4 p. publisher's ads. Fair, in dark green cloth with added black leather spine. The covers are somewhat soiled and a few ends pages have minor chipping. Text is age darkened.2) Wayside Thoughts of Wordsworth, G. G. Harrap & Co., London, 64 pp. (3.75" x 2.5") Fair, in brown suede with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. Covers chipping at the edges and the front cover is a bit warped, but no other marks or damage and text is clean. There is a charming gift inscription to a previous owner " To My Darling littlr Mother, Xmas 1919, From herr loving girlie, Lorna". Very Good. CH.
