The volumes contain the official correspondence from many of the key leaders from both the Union and Confederate armies. 138,597 pages of Civil War source material – averaging over 1,000 pages per book. Each book is individually indexed. In addition, there is a separate General Index. This reprint edition of the “Official Records” is a vast improvement over the “government original.” All 138,597 pages are printed on an excellent grade of acid-free paper which will resist wear, deterioration and discoloration, and the binding is linen-textured buckram, impregnated with pyroylin to withstand wear and tear. An additional improvement to the “government original” is the numbering system on the spines. In the original, volume numbers appeared on each book in the Roman numerals. These have both Roman and Arabic numerals for ease in organizing and identifying volumes. An excellent condition, complete, 128 volume book set including the index. Bound in black, buckram covers with bright, silver lettering on the spine. A clean, sharp, bright, set. Most books are still in the original, publisher's shrink wrap. The pages are clean, bright white and in excellent condition with no markings. Solid binding throughout the set. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's FREE Counter
