Urta Max SLR is the new 120mm travel MTB created with the aim of giving Factory Team Wilier athletes a modern and versatile racing bike: a high-performance suspension system, precise handling and safe. New suspension systemThe new shock absorbing system on the Urta Max is a single pivot. The compression ratio has been optimised to work extremely effectively on all types of terrain. The standard 45mm travel Rock Shox and Fox rear shock absorbers have compression curves specifically designed to work in symbiosis with the leverage ratio chosen during the design phase. Three exercise phases are foreseen: an initial regressive phase (stiffer and more sustained), a central phase that is more reactive and sensitive when maximum efficiency in pedalling is required and a final stroke phase that is progressive, to avoid the suspension bottoming out. CanvasThe two triangles that make up the Urta Max SLR frame are made of HUS-MOD high modulus carbon fiber, the same used in all of Wilier's top-of-the-range products. Maximum stiffness only where necessary. The front triangle fully Integra the cables inside the frame but, unlike previous models - where the tubes and sheaths entered through holes pre-drilled in the carbon - on the Urta Max the brake, control and dropper tubes enter above the headset, as happens on road bikes. A solution that provides an absolutely clean aesthetic and, last but not least, improves the overall rigidity of the steering area because the absence of holes guarantees continuity of modularity and directionality of the carbon fibers. Maximum frame protectionTo protect the rear triangle and its bearings, we have designed a special rubber cover that, when installed in the frame triangle junction area, prevents mud, dirt or debris from affecting the reliability and long-term durability of the frame. Tire changeOn the rear carriage we have a 70 mm light point that allows the adoption of the most modern off-road tires, up to 2.4”, ideal for any type of cross country route. GeometriesThe geometry of the Urta Max has been designed and optimised for the installation of a fork with 120 mm travel, with the ultimate goal of keeping the rider in a racing, low and compact position. To do this we reduced the stack to a minimum, lengthened the reach and kept the bottom bracket lower. A solution that allows the rider to remain compact on the bike, in a more performing position.Going into detail, in size M the stack is 598 mm and the reach is 443 mm, while the steering angle is more open at 67.5° and the seat tube is verticalized at 75°.With these values the resulting wheelbase is larger than the previous Urta model. All this gives the rider a greater sense of riding safety and aggression in the pushing position. New Urta Max Bar HandlebarClosing out the carbon module is the new Urta Max Bar monocoque carbon fold.The handlebar Integra perfectly with the frame – as happens on road products – thanks to special dedicated spacers. The level of comfort is kept high by the material used: high modulus HUS-MOD carbon with notable capacity to absorb all the micro-vibrations deriving from uneven terrain on the vertical plane.The particular negative inclination of the handlebar stem (- 27°) guarantees the rider a compact position for more powerful pedalling when pushing, on technical climbs and when relaunching.
