Description: Winchester Model 88 - 4 Round Capacity Magazine for 243 & 308 Win - NEW: New 4 round capacity detachable box magazine. All steel construction and blued. Exact copy of the original. Made in the USA with original Winchester tooling.Model 88 and 100 Magazines are interchangeable in both model rifles. The Model 100 Magazine will lock open when the last round is fired. The Model 88 magazine does not. On the model 100 Magazine, if the bolt is locked open, you will need to hold the operating handle rearward to release the magazine. Capacity is 4 rounds – Do Not attempt to jam a 5th round in as it may damage the magazine. These are the 4th variation magazines and were introduced somewhere around serial number 14000 on the Model 88.If you have an early model 88 rifle, these magazines will not fit tight in the front and may not feed properly. Winchester changed the magazine lock and made it 0.15 inches longer with the introduction of the 4th variation magazine. See pics for more details.
