Description: Wisconsin Moonstone (Anorthoclase Feldspar) crystal that shows the beautiful blue iridescent schiller that these are famous for. It needs to be held at the correct angle in decent lighting to see the effect. I polished the main face with the iridescence by hand to a somewhat glassy luster which really brought out the Schiller. The specimen is a Pegmatite material and is comprised of large perthitic Anorthoclase Feldspar crystal as well as some minor accessory minerals such as Arfvesdonite, Aegerine etc. Fluoresces red under short wave UV light (not pictured). From the Stettin Pegmatite in Marathon Co, Wisconsin. This type of Moonstone is only found in Marathon County Wisconsin in a four square mile radius almost all of which is private property. This was collected with permission from the landowner. 47 grams. 2" length. I do combine shipping, so please request an invoice before paying. Moonstone, polished. Marathon County Wisconsin.
